At this time there is a cost for the College Admissions Support Group.
If we are able to get additional donations then we anticipate lowering or eliminating the cost.
We do have full and partial scholarships for students. To be considered for these scholarships, students must have a completed FAFSA and/or CSS Profile. If a student is not eligible to fill out the FAFSA and/or CSS Profile then we will request proof of income.
The number of scholarships is dependent on the number of donations provided. In addition, Jenn the Tutor will provide additional scholarships supported using her own income.

Black female students who attend the work sessions above will be considered for the College Admissions Support Group. In order for the College Admissions Support Group to work, we have to have the right mix of students and personalities.
As a result, we invite students to join who are well-suited to join.

We complete college applications in the College Admissions Support Group.
Once a student joins the College Admission Support Group they are given guidance on creating and making adjustments to their college lists.
Students will be asked to return their finalized list to their parent/guardian/custodian/caretaker and receive input and set a budget for the college search.
Students will then work to create a calendar of deadlines and list the requirements for each application (essays, supplemental essays, fees, etc).
Upon completing these tasks students will work to complete their applications.
-
Students will need to attend a certain number of sessions a week and meet a minimum hour requirement to continue to be eligible for the College Admissions Support Group. This is all determined based on the schedules of the students in the group. However, please expect to meet at least 1-2 times a week while the group is in session.
If students are unable to meet these requirements then they will be moved into 1-on-1 tutoring and the number of sessions needed will be determined by Jenn the Tutor.
Of Note: While we try to end early there are times that students need to work into the evening to complete an application. There are times our group worked from 7 pm to midnight or later. Students are not required to stay on late and must have parental/guardian/custodian/caretaker consent in advance to stay past 9 pm.
-
The College Admissions Support Group starts in October/November and runs until the last college application is submitted.
A majority of students participate in the group from October/November to February. We typically meet at least 1 time a week but during peak applications season we meet 3-5 times a week.
We also work with students submitting rolling admissions applications.

Our primary focus is on applying to colleges that will provide for a student’s needs. While we have been successful with scholarships, that is not our primary focus.
If a member would like support as they apply for scholarships that they locate and prepare for scholarship interviews/events we are more than happy to assist.
We also help students and caretakers with financial aid appeals and have a financial planner available to discuss options.
-
The College Admissions Support provides students with accountability and support through their college admissions journey.
In addition, students have the opportunity to get answers to commonly asked questions and lean on the expertise of a nationally-recognized college counselor, Jenn The Tutor.

The most common benefit we provide is the ability to stop worrying that the college application is complete
One thing we hear from our College Admissions Support Group from parents, guardians, custodians, caretakers commonly tell us that once their student joined the College Admissions Support Group they no longer had to worry about whether the application was being worked on, getting done, if progress was being made or where my student was at with their application.
Once my student join the group, the application will be completed. The application is finished, done well, and the parent, guardian, custodian, caretaker can focus on the financial aid and locating scholarships for the student to complete.
